All sorts of stories …

There are nearly as many ways to tell a story as there are stories to tell. Some modes are rehearsed and revised and presented to the world to be considered and judged, and hopefully passed along to others. Things like novels, poems, photographs, and paintings come to mind.

Sometimes, more casual methods are used: a memory described while driving, an embellished account of adventure around the campfire, the story of the night you met your partner told to new friends at a new restaurant. Stories for the sake of stories, told and retold and changed and laughed at, and sometimes never even written down. The common thread across style, language, intent, and medium is that stories connect people.

Whether it was from hearing my mother read them to me when I was young, or pouring over pages in the night on my own, or teaching some of the classics to my students; I have always felt at home with absorbing all manner of tales. Now, I am excited to share some of my own.

In the upcoming months, I will be publishing shorts stories, essays, and poems right here and on medium.com. I would love know what you think of them and maybe hear something you have created as well.

I am especially proud to share some excerpts from my novel, The Walk Down, and launch my new episodic thriller about tragedy, secrecy, and survival in the wilds of Maine.

I hope you will enjoy reading these pieces as much as I have enjoyed writing them.
